Migration Services from Cognos to Jasper Reports
Migration of existing reports created by (i) Cognos, (ii) Oracle Policy Automation and Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher or (iii) Java document generation library (e.g. Apache POI) to Jasper Reports.
Migration Services Methodology :
- NewTrek will carry out the Services in accordance with Implementation Schedule as agreed with the client.
- Project Planning and Initiation
- (a) NewTrek will plan all activities and allocation of resources for carrying out the Services in accordance with the implementation schedule.
- Study, Analysis and Design
- (a) For existing Cognos reports, NewTrek will analyse (i) the report specification and (ii) the report logic from program source code.
- Development
- (a) NewTrek will develop the reports with Jaspersoft Studio tool.
- (b) To test the migrated reports, NewTrek will develop landing page(s) to perform report testing in SIT and UAT environment. The landing page(s) shall include all parameters for each report for the Report Tests.
- System Integration Test
- (a) NewTrek will support the deployment of Jasper reports and the landing page(s) to the SIT environment.
- (b) NewTrek will make reference to the data in the database of the SIT environment or additional sample data provided to prepare the required data to test the Jasper reports.
- (c) NewTrek will prepare various types of test cases for report testing.
- (d) NewTrek will make use the existing reports as model answers to check the correctness of corresponding Jasper reports; the migrated reports shall generate the same output (including field values, layout and number formats) as the existing reports (except for system time dependent fields, e.g. report date and time) for the same input parameters.
- User Acceptance Test
- (a) NewTrek will support the deployment of Jasper reports and the landing page(s) to the user acceptance test environment.
- (b) NewTrek will support users to complete the UAT.
- Report Ready for Use
- (a) NewTrek will solve all outstanding problems reported and make the Report Ready for Use.
- Project Closure
- (a) NewTrek will conduct a handover session to the client in order to facilitate ongoing support of the reports.
- (b) NewTrek will support the deployment of Jasper reports to the production environment.
